- Abstract
- The objective of this study is to determine whether combining son tissue and articulation has a greater effect on cervical range of movement than if performed on their own. Method: - The study was conducted on 40 students picked at random from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO). They were separated evenly into four groups; control, son tissue, articulation and combined. Each subjects' neck range of movement was measured using the CROM before and after the experiment. Each group had to lie supine for a total of 10 minutes but depending on the group, determined the type of treatment if any, that would be performed. Results: - The study showed that, each of the experiment groups improved the total cervical range of movement when compared to the control group. After a statistical analysis, it was found that there was no significant difference between the combined and son tissue, and articulation groups and therefore, no benefit to combining the two different approaches.
