Objective
The main goal of this project was to evaluate the efficiency of the neck trust manipulation (lift technique) in patients diagnosed with acute neck pain. In particular, to demonstrate if the technique is able to decrease the pain and to prove that the motor disability is greater reduced than using traditional techniques.
Methodology
A group of 28 patients (both sexes and between 18 and 40 years) was divided by a single-blind study into two different groups, the control and the experimental one (n=14 for each group). All the patients received a physiotherapy standard protocol during 4 clinical sessions. This protocol is based on infrared and TES treatments. The neck trust manipulation (lift technique) was added in the first and third session for the experimental group.
In order to evaluate the results, the patients completed a visual analogue scale (VAS) and a Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire (NPQ) during the first and last clinical session. The statistical analysis was performed by IBM SPSS 22 Statistics software.
Results
The analysis of NPQ and VAS post-intervention data showed a significant reduction (P<0,004 and P<0,003, respectively) of acute neck pain levels in patients treated with the neck trust manipulation (lift technique).
Conclusions
This study reports the efficiency of neck trust manipulation (lift technique) in patients with acute neck pain, improving the disability and decreasing pain levels. - Abstract

Objectiu
L’objectiu d’aquest estudi va ser comprovar si l’aplicació de la tècnica de lift cervico-dorsal disminueix la discapacitat i el dolor a nivell cervical en un grup de 28 subjectes amb cervicàlgia aguda, dividits en dos grups, 14 pacients en el grup experimental, en comparació amb 14 pacients del grup de control.
Metodologia
Estudi experimental aleatoritzat (simple cec). La mostra va ser de 28 persones dels dos sexes d’entre 18 i 40 anys (grup experimental n=14 i grup control n=14). Els subjectes dels dos grups van rebre un protocol de Fisioteràpia (tractament amb infrarojos i TENS durant 4 sessions) i en el grup experimental a més a més del protocol de Fisioteràpia se li va realitzar la tècnica de lift cervico-dorsal en la sessió 1 i 3. Es van enregistrar les dades de l’escala visual analògica (EVA) i del Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire (NPQ) en la primera (sessió 1) i última visita (sessió 4).
Per l’anàlisi estadístic es va utilitzar el software estadístic IBM SPSS 22 Statistics.
Resultats
Els resultats van mostrar una disminució significativa del dolor i la discapacitat cervical en el grup experimental.
Les mitges de les variables NPQ i EVA post-intervenció, es van diferenciar significativament en ambdós casos amb P<0,004 i P<0,003 respectivament.
Conclusions
En base als resultats que es van obtenir en aquest estudi, vàrem poder concloure que l’aplicació de la tècnica de lift cervico-dorsal produeix una disminució significativa de la discapacitat i el dolor cervical dels pacients amb cervicàlgia mecànica aguda. - presented at
