- Abstract
- Introduction: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is multifactorial by nature andcauses biopsychosocial deterioration. It is a frequent complaint and offers achallenge to osteopathy to provide effective help. Anterior talus bone somaticdysfunction (ATSD) caused by a grade I or II ankle sprain may be a factor thatcan cause and maintain pain through an ascending chain of injury.Objective: To evaluate the post-adjustment technique changes on Oswestrydisability index (ODI), baropodometry and stabilometry in people with CLBP andATSD.Methods: Randomized, single blind clinical trial. The sample consisted of 20subjects of both sexes between 18 and 45 years (experimental group n=10;control group n=10). ODI, baropodometric and stabilometric data were recordedbefore and after applying the Tug technique or a placebo.Results: Significant changes in the baropodometric data in both theexperimental group and the control group were observed (p=0.008).Conclusions: CLBP in the sample subjects causes minimal disability. Both theTug technique and placebo cause significant baropodometric changes. TheATSD would not be a mechanism underlying CLBP.

- Introducció: el dolor lumbar crònic (DLC) és de naturalesa multifactorial iprovoca un deteriorament biopsicosocial. És un motiu freqüent de consulta i unrepte per l’osteopatia per poder oferir una ajuda eficaç. La disfunció somàticaanterior de l’astràgal (DSAA) degut a un esquinç de turmell grau I o II pot ser unfactor que provoqui i mantingui el dolor per una cadena lesional ascendent.Objectiu: comparar els canvis postècnica d’ajustament a l’astràgal sobrel’index de discapacitat d’Oswestry (IDO), de la baropodometria i del’estabilometria de les persones amb DLC i DSAA.Metodologia: assaig clínic aleatoritzat (simple cec). La mostra va ser de 20persones dels dos sexes de 18-45 anys (grup estudi n=10 i grup control n=10).Es van registrar les dades del IDO, baropodomètriques i estabilomètriquesabans i després de realitzar la tècnica de Tug i un placebo.Resultats: Es van observar canvis significatius en les dadesbaropodomètriques en ambdós peus tant en el grup experimental com en elgrup control (p=0,008).Conclusions: el DLC de la mostra provoca una mínima discapacitat. La tècnicade Tug i el placebo provoquen canvis baropodomètrics significatius. La DSAAno seria un mecanisme subjacent del DLC.
