- Primary dysmenorrhea is the pain appearance immediately before the menstruation. It has multifactorial etiology and a considerably incidence in postpubertal and nulliparous women. Medical treatment is based on patient education and administration of drugs such as analgesics and anovulatory, among others. Osteopathic treatment is based on improve the lumbopelvic mechanics, balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems and enhance the fluid movement. Neurolimphatic Chapman Points are another tool used for the same objective. Those are viscero--somatic reflexes used either for visceral diagnosis or functional treatment. The current study goal was: to try to prove the effectivenes of the treatment in women with dysmenorrhea. The experimental group comprised by 25 women, received treatment in 4 sessions and they registred the pain and the associated symptoms they had at any time. The control group were not treated but the same items were registred, too. It was concluded, after this study, that Chapman Points treatment was effective in dysmenorrhea and in pain reducement and in improving the associated symptoms: swollen belly, gastric disorders, moodiness and sadness.

- La dismenorrea primaria es la aparición de dolor justo antes de la menstruación. Tiene una etiología multifactorial y una incidencia considerable entre las mujeres pospuberales y nulíparas. El tratamiento médico se basa en la educación al paciente y la administración de fármacos como los anovulatorios y analgésicos, entre otros. El tratamiento osteopático tiene por objetivos liberar la mecánica lumbo--pélvica, equilibrar el simpático y el parasimpático y favorecer el movimiento de los fluidos. Una herramienta más del tratamiento son los puntos neurolinfáticos de Chapman, reflejos víscero--somáticos, a través de los cuales se puede diagnosticar la víscera, así como influir en su función. El presente estudio tenía por objetivo determinar si dicho tratamiento tenía efectividad en mujeres con dismenorrea. Al grupo experimental, formado por 25 mujeres, se les trató 4 veces y se valoró el dolor y los síntomas asociados que presentaban en cada momento. Al grupo control, no se les trataba pero sí se les valoraba los mismos ítems. Se concluyó, tras este estudio, que el tratamiento de los Puntos de Chapman era efectivo en la dismenorrea ya que conseguía disminuir el dolor y mejorar la sintomatología asociada: la hinchazón de vientre, los trastornos gástricos, el mal humor y la tristeza.
