- Abstract
- This study seeks to justify the treatment of bone disease in cases of lumbar disc herniation. It has also been proposed to compare the effectiveness of a structural treatment through a technique of high speed with a functional approach to a technique of BLT (balanced ligamentous tension). It has produced a bibliographic review on the pathophysiology of herniated discs and osteopathic previous studies. It has been posed a quasi-experimental study with 20 patients of both sexes, aged 25-60. They all have a herniated disc in any lumbar segment and have a medical diagnosis. They were randomly divided into two groups (TAV and BLT). An initial assessment has been made (VAS: pain, ODI: disability, MMST: mobility), then 3 sessions of treatment have been applied. Finally a final evaluation has been made with the same tests. The results indicated that there were no significant changes in any of the variables. Yet signs of improvement in pain and disability were perceived. No significant changes occurred between the different approaches. It’s not possible to establish the effectiveness of both treatments on the population as a whole.

- Este estudio pretende justificar el tratamiento de la osteopatía ante casos de hernia discal a nivel lumbar. También se ha propuesto comparar la efectividad de un tratamiento estructural por medio de una técnica de alta velocidad con un abordaje funcional con una técnica de BLT (balanced ligamentous tension). Se ha elaborado una revisión bibliográfica sobre la fisiopatología de las hernias discales y estudios osteopáticos previos. Se ha planteado un estudio cuasiexperimental con 20 pacientes, de ambos sexos, edades comprendidas entre 25-60 años. Todos ellos presentan una hernia discal en cualquier segmento lumbar y cuentan con un diagnostico médico. Se distribuyen aleatoriamente en dos grupos (TAV y BLT). Se ha realizado una evaluación inicial (EVA: dolor, ODI: discapacidad y MMST: movilidad), posteriormente se aplican 3 sesiones de tratamiento. Finalmente se ha hecho una evaluación final con los mismos tests. Los resultados indicaron que no se produjeron cambios significativos en ninguna de las variables. Aún así se percibieron indicios de mejora en cuanto al dolor y la discapacidad. No aparecen cambios significativos entre los distintos abordajes. No se puede establecer la efectividad de ambos tratamientos en conjunto sobre la población.
