- Abstract
- The aim of the experiment was to investigate whether individual differences in the daily pattern of myofascial tissue sensitivity are related to individual differences in circadian typology. 117 questionnaires were distributed to B.S.O students to identify subjects’ circadian typologies. 20 “morning types” and 20 “evening types” were selected for the experiment. The subjects were tested for myofascial sensitivity to pressure at two distinct times of day (a.m./ p.m.). “Morning types” were shown to be significantly more sensitive to pressure in the afternoon than in the morning. “evening types” were shown to be significantly more sensitive to pressure in the morning than the afternoon. The results supported both experimental hypotheses. The implications of this study and possibilities for future research were discussed.
