- Abstract
- Cervical whiplash injuries with symptoms ie. headache, vertigo, migranes, sensory loss or upper extremity joint/muscle stiffness, have their origin in neuromuscular disturbances. The etiology of these changes can be described as unbalanced "nervetraffic" between afferents and gamma-motorneurons. These imbalances make it impossible for the body to regain a normal resting state. A state of bodily rest and flexibility without pain. Osteopathic treatment techniques have their focus on balancing previous mentioned disturbances and thereby alleviating the effects of whiplash related symptoms.
